Minister Mr. Ajay Maken inspects status of work on Nallah Project in Defence Colony

Union Cabinet Minister for Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Mr. Ajay Maken visited the under construction, and long over due Nallah Project of Defence Colony on the evening of 20th February 2013 Wednesday, to oversee the progress of the work. The visiting program was also attended by MLA Mr. Neeraj Basoya, and Area Municipal Councillor Mr. Abhishek Dutt, along with other designated officials.

On the occasion, Mr. Maken instructed the officers concerned, to complete the ongoing Nallah construction work by 14th of April 2013, so he could inaugurate the project on Baisakhi Day.  However, the Project Manger Mr.S.K Bhatia requested the minister to extend the deadline to 30th April 2013, which was of agreed upon. We would be delighted if the deadline was maintained this time around!

The following points were also highlighted during the event:-

•         Stay order on the Parking Complex Project near the Gumbad
•         Inauguration of Elemention Gym in DCWA Club
•         The ongoing road problems are likely to get sorted within 10 to 15 days time
•          A water treatment Plant for the Nallah by June of 2013
•         To ensure netting to play cricket on the Covered Nallah
•         Pets, especially dogs not to be allowed on the covered Nallah
•         No work of Nallah during the night as this disturbs the residents

Overall the visit of the Hon’ble  Minister got a heartiest welcome by the residents of Defence Colony.

We would greatly appreciate to hear your reaction and comments on these developments.

thank you for sending all info on net . so easy to b in touch and so interactive.

my worry about the nala is that there is a huge stink there and whether this will go once it is finished.what about the flow of water in nalah? if that is impeded and the water is not allowed to flow naturally and at the speed it is meant to , it will create stench and problems during rainy season as well as logging of sewege lines. the foul smell then will be permanent and the top will look green.A really concerned resident.

could you also plz have the inner lane in front of D block -paved by whichever authority is supposed to b incharge of it- and plz tell traffic police to make the lane a one way passgage for cars.either coming in from the petrol pump into the lane, or going out of the petrol pump . this one way cycle will go a long way in decongesting and maintaining the the flow of traffic during peak hours between 11 am till 7 pm.plz Mr Dutt , do look at it.
